Posted on Sep 19 2016 - 7:14am

Great Job by the Scouts
that sold popcorn
this weekend!!!
The latest sales totals are now available and have been sent out. Don't forget this goes towards your son's overall sales goal as well as helping the pack provide an awesome program.
Did you know that there is a Popcorn News Page? Want to know how far we are with our pack goal each week, there is a tool for that on the Popcorn News Page. Want to know important dates regarding popcorn? They're listed on the Popcorn News Page. You can get to the page by clicking on the menu item on the left side or by clicking HERE.

The third and FINAL weekend of show and sales will be coming up next and there are many spots that still need to be filled. If you did not get the email with all of the updates and the available times, contact our Kernel at popcorn_kernel@cubscoutpack133.org to sign up your son. Don't forget that all orders are due Tuesday October 11 at the pack meeting. NO EXCEPTIONS. This is so that they can be submitted to council on time.

Why Be a Scout?

Posted on Sep 11 2016 - 4:11pm

  Why Be a Scout?

There are so many reasons!  Cub Scouts have great age appropriate adventures while learning skills that will help them later in life.  It is for families from all walks of life.  They get to have the thrill of shooting an arrow or the satisfaction turning a block of wood into a race car and see it run down the track.  From camping with friends to hiking in the woods, from model rockets to fishing, cub scouts have lots of fun!

We are chartered by Kings Highway Elementary school, located at 841 W Kings Highway, Coatsville PA 19320. Want to learn more about pack 133 and what Cub Scouts do? Send an email to our Cubmaster Tom at cubmaster@cubscoutpack133.org
(By the way, your son does not have to attend Kings Highway to sign up with Pack 133.)

Family Fall Camping

Posted on Sep 11 2016 - 4:11pm

Due to capacity at the Lake Glory Camp site at Knoebels,
we are now planning a trip to Spring Gulch.

Family Fall Camping
Friday October 21,2016
to
Sunday October 23, 2016
Spring Gulch is open to all families, but I will need to know ASAP to book our reservation.  I should be able to block off a handful of sites with Spring Gulch and each family can call to pay for their own site/register themselves.  However, if you book a site, please email me a site number and how many are attending so that we can plan for our group.  Those whom were in attendance last year, can attest that this was a very fun family event!!!  Friday night, Mr. Porter set up his large projector screen and the kids watched a movie outside in the dark.  Saturday was filled with playtime, scavenger hunts and trick or treating, followed by a trip through the campgrounds haunted house.  The kids and adults had a blast!

Unfortunately, Spring Gulch doesn't offer any discounted pricing and can be rather pricy for families.  The base price for 2 people to camp (adults or child) is $110 for Fri/Sat.  Each additional child is $4.  So a family of 3= $114, family of 4= $118, family of 5=$122 and so on (just add $4)  This fee is just the camping and activity fee.  To aid families, we did a large food "pot luck" spread last year and each family contributed one item per meal.

Friday night - each family was on their own for dinner Saturday - Breakfast and Dinner were pot luck style (lunch was each family on their own - simple foods are best) Sunday - Breakfast pot luck style

I understand that this might not be an option now that the price has gone up.  I just wanted you to know I have worked on an alternative option.  Please let me know if you want a refund at the Sept. 20 pack meeting, to book your reservation and to any other family who wishes to join in the fun, please let me know ASAP to I can add you to the reservation.  Send your email to packsecretary@cubscoutpack133.org .
